Autumn/Winter 2008 Footwear at Scotts - Part I
This week is one of the biggest weeks of the year for new stock at Scotts. Here are some of the highlights of our autum/winter 08 footwear range…
Peter Werth
We have three new shoes, starting with the Scotts exclusive Centre Seam Loafer. We in the Scotts buying team thought long and hard about how to move on this seasonal best seller… and the ‘genius’ was… take off the zig-zag stitching! Et voila same price, still as commercial, and a little cleaner (available in black and tan).
Next up is the reintroduction of the Back Stitch Loafer. We managed to persuade Peter Werth to make us a version that would retail at £50, which is their cheapest ever loafer, making it a great priced loafer (available in black and brown). Finally from Peter Werth is the Stitched Casual Loafer, a good casual looking loafer designed with the pub in mind!
Rockport
We’ve got loads of Umbwe and Mweka in stock, plus the new versions of Marangu (available in black and brown). The ‘interesting’ comes in the form of Boundary. We’ve two versions, one is a black boot with a perfed upper and a white collar, the other is an all black boot with a black collar, with silver repeat XCS branding. Both boots use excellent XCS toe branding (like Evisu) and the usual heel and tongue branding.
Lacoste
We’ve one new gem in the form of the Graduate GS Argyle (in white/plume), which is the lace version of the Prep Argyle which monstered out earlier in the season.
For the kids we’re launching Lacoste kids this week. We got two colours of Camden, two colours of Carnaby (each available in black/white/blue and white/classic green) and a white/navy Swerve.
And we’ve more women’s sneakers than you can shake a stick at, seriously there are about 15.
Base
We’ve got the casual’s favourite Morse Twisted Seam Loafer in brown, and an update to the Clash Driving Loafer called Vital (available in Black and Brown).
Firetrap
And finally, from Firetrap we have a new moccasin called Criminal. Its been specced up a little, better leathers, a lot nicer slimmer sole unit and better branding (available in black and tan). Next up is Caper, using the same sole, upper, branding and leather as Criminal, only using a half apron (twisted seam), very fashionable for the Scotts lad (available in a winter brown).
Other highlights include a boot called Convict, which is one of the best autumn/winter boots we’ve seen full stop. Using the sole unit from Criminal, and a moccasin apron front, the key selling point is on the side panel of the boot, where Firetrap have added a very tight wiry mesh panel, in a slightly lighter shade when compared to the leather on the rest of the boot. The end outcome is a great looking commercial lad’s boot, that you wouldn’t be surprised if Deakins or Timberland had made. In tan. Nice.
Cutter 2 Strap comes back in Chocolate for the winter. We also have a good old fashioned work boot called Deloce coming in, its new, but it looks battered, in a fashionable way, well worth it for the lad who wants the rugged look.
